Generis recognised for its contribution to the British Utilities Market
SME News ‘SME100 Most Innovative Energy Software Solution, ‘B-Smart’ – 2019’
28 June 2019: Generis Technology Ltd. has been awarded “Most Innovative Energy Software Solution” at SME News’ annual awards, recognising its contribution to the highly competitive utilities market in the UK. The company has a track record for creating innovative, reliable and effective energy management solutions, which are used by a raft of British brands including Siemens, E.ON and British Gas. The company also provides tailored metering management tools to four of the big six energy suppliers.
Chosen from a short-list of 250 companies, Generis was recognised for its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement and contribution to the UK utilities market. Established in 1995, Generis specialises in Industry Messaging for suppliers, shippers, meter asset managers, meter operators and retailers, and with the now award-winning B-Smart applications has built a reputation for providing innovative technology to enable its customers to manage their utilities data and processes, assuring business efficiency as well as compliance to the latest regulation requirements.
Phil Mansbridge, Head of Sales and Product Development at Generis said: “This award recognises all of the efforts of our team in ensuring we are continuously innovating to keep up with the ongoing legislative and technological demands of our industry.”
“Our next big focus is to leverage the proven B-Smart platform in the area of prepayment and Pay-As-You-Go metering which we anticipate being the next big growth area as the number of SMETS1 and SMETS2 meters enrolled into the UK’s DCC increases. We are currently developing a suite of service options to help and support our customers in offering simple-to-use services – and this is high on our agenda utilising our System Based Prepayment solution.”
Commenting on behalf of the SME News Awards, Kevin Thompson said: “Generis has consistently shown strong innovation, service and support with regard to industry compliance. The utilities market is currently going through a transformative change in terms of energy supply and management and Generis has maintained strong growth and leadership with its technological delivery and market edge.”
The company is currently working on one the biggest challenges facing the industry; developing software that will support the Government’s supply and installation of approximately 53 million SMETS2 smart meters over the coming years.
