Siemens cements relationship with Generis

“As the new SMETS2 regulatory and asset management requirements emerged, Siemens Managed Services approached their trusted partner Generis Technology Limited to build a capable cloud hosted Dual Fuel Asset Management System to support their SMETS2 asset management program.

Said Stuart Mills, Head of Procurement, “When the need arose to replace our existing system it was an easy choice for us to select Generis as our preferred vendor. The decision was based on the B-Smart product capability and the long-term relationship that both companies have enjoyed over the last fifteen years.

Following a smooth implementation, including the seamless migration of portfolio and asset data from our existing system, the project went live with minimal disruption.

The enhanced functionality of the Generis product, deployed in the Amazon cloud, now allows us to track all our assets (and associated attributes) for the full lifecycle from advance notification, logistics chain, returns, on and off the wall encompassing communications hubs and IHDs, not just metering devices.

This implementation now allows us to continue to operate as a Meter Asset Manager, Meter Operator and Meter Asset Provider, not just for dual fuel legacy installations but now in the SMETS2 era and gives us the ability to track these high value assets from pre-delivery to the wall and to the grave.

I would not hesitate in recommending Generis Technology for any future utilities software development.”
