Generis and Landis+Gyr Announce Next Generation Smart Prepayment Solutions

As part of the Landis+Gyr group, Generis has developed a prepayment solution that complements the Landis+Gyr token less prepayment Electricity and Gas meters. The prepayment functionality shares the same platform as Landis+Gyr AMM components, allowing prepayment and credit meters to be managed from a single system. The Payment and Tariff Manager module allows easy configuration of financial aspects of the meter, such as tariff details, debt recovery rates and emergency credit values, as well as storing a complete history of credit transactions for a meter. In addition, this module works with the head end to ensure that payment receipt notifications are routed correctly for onward transmission, in the appropriate format, to the meter itself. The benefits of the Landis+Gyr token less prepayment system to the energy supplier include the elimination of traditional card costs, reduced transaction costs, reduced site visits and misdirected payments and an improvement in the overall cash position. The customer also has a better experience with more flexible payment options available and up-to-date in home information leading to fewer call centre contacts.
