Generis release version 6.0.0 of B-Smart™

B-Smart version 6.0.0 was released on schedule on Friday 2nd June 2006. This is a major release including many enhancements but significantly the inclusion of a new licensable application, B-Smart™ Flow Director (FLD).

The following is a summary and high level explanation of the business benefits and functionality delivered:

PRODUCTIVITY

Improving the productivity of the operations staff on resolving tasks (work items and exceptions) that require manual actions to complete:

  • B-Smart processes can be designed to automatically or manually generate, prioritize, assign and monitor tasks.
  • Tasks are work items necessary to complete a process or close an exception.
  • Users can be routed through necessary screens to complete tasks. Clients have the option to guide the user to adopt "best practices" based on client specific goals/requirements.
  • Users are provided increased access to information necessary to resolve tasks/exceptions. Users can drill down into process details from multiple perspectives (exceptions, tasks, process state...). Transaction data is stored for online access based on configuration rules specific to client requirements. Users view/navigate transaction/process data within context - steps (states) within a process model that links to related transactions necessary to complete the business process.
  • Users are provided the option to manually enter a new transaction or update a transaction for new/corrected data.
  • Users are provided the option to resend data (transaction or batch) to the trading partner or another entity defined within B-Smart (super user for example).

 

COST TO SERVE

Reducing the cost to implement new markets/processes and/or changes in processes:

  • Users are given improved tools to view and define business processes/transactions, including defined process states, triggers between states and SLA periods.
  • Users are provided a visual of a business process as a State Transition Diagram (process flow view).
  • Users are provided the option to define data to be stored for online view/query.
  • Users can define tasks to be incorporated into process flows, prioritization of tasks, assignment of tasks to users/groups of users and SLA periods for completion of tasks. Users can tune the definition of tasks in real-time - improving the ability to quickly react to changing market conditions.

 

REPORTING

Improving the visibility/reporting on operations:

  • Users can view reports online improving the ability to monitor operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Reports allow managers to view data on multiple levels - from groups down to individuals.
  • Reports show performance within SLA guidelines (processing windows) that highlight overdue tasks and tasks that are at risk for extending beyond the SLA window.
  • Reports can be customized to client specific requirements.
