Generis announce a ‘Dual’ Success

Following the successful implementation of a bespoke Address Management System (AMS) for Siemens Metering Services in September 2001, Generis Technology Ltd has developed a Dual Fuel (Joint Meter Reading) System in conjunction with Siemens.

The Dual Fuel System is totally integrated with Siemens existing Electricity and Gas Meter Reading Management Systems, and ensures that Gas and Electricity Meters at the same properties, or in close geographical proximity, are read at the same time.

Following alignment of the scheduled reads, Meter Reading Instructions are downloaded to the Meter Readers’ hand held terminals.

The system thus assists in attaining maximum efficiency from the day to day Meter Reading activities, whilst at the same time enhancing Customer satisfaction levels.

The Dual Fuel development, from award of contract to completion of testing, was achieved in a period of only four months, again proving Generis’ commitment to prompt delivery coupled with high quality.

This will enable Siemens Metering to meet its contractual obligations with its customers (Gas and Electricity suppliers) and to improve service levels to them. This reinforces Siemens’ commitment to continually improving customer service.

Generis and Siemens adopted a partnership approach to developing the AMS and Dual Fuel applications. A joint Generis and Siemens team investigated the problems of ‘Dual Fuel Addressing’ and agreed an innovative solution to the industry-wide problem of address quality.
